| Johns Dental offers numerous attachment systems to
provide a variety of restorative treatments to our customers.
Each is chosen for both proven clinical success and esthetic appeal. " A
free design and estimate on your patient's study model is available
for any treatment plan in question."
The Hader Bar is a semi-resilient system that employs an
individual custom-made bar with retentive sleeves that fit into an
opposing prosthesis. Two abutment teeth are required. It
is used in combination with crown and bridge restorations: 1) on teeth
prepared for crowns requiring splinting, 2) as a retentive device for
a post and core over denture restoration and 3) on a combination
partial and crown and bridge system. The Hader Bar is also often
used as the retention in a implant case.
The Hader Bar takes up little or no tongue space. The skirt
of the bar can easily be modified to accommodate cases of considerable
resorption. Exact contouring helps reduce stress and trauma on
abutments..
Laboratory and Office Procedures for a
Partial Denture or Over denture
1. Prepare abutment teeth using standard crown and bridge
procedures. Polyvinyl or silicone impression materials are best
for both accuracy and trouble-free shipment.
|
- Johns Dental Crown and Bridge Laboratory will
fit the crowns
with the Hader Bar in place, and return them to your office for try- in.
Included with the completed crowns will be a custom tray and bite rim.
- In the office, the fit, margins, and
occlusion of the crown are verified. Establish the correct
vertical using the bite rim. The crowns are then pulled in a standard
crown and bridge impression using the custom tray.
- In the laboratory, porcelain will be placed in the crowns, if
required. The Partial Laboratory will begin fabrication of the
framework, leaving spaces for the clips which will later be cured into
the acrylic. The partial will be returned for try- in. If
no framework is required, the technician will build a wax denture try in
over the Hader Bar and return it to your office
- Following the verification of try in, return the denture
(partial or full) and the bar to Johns Dental for completion of the
case.
A Hader Bar Kit includes two 5cm Plastic
Profiles, six Plastic Riders, six processing jigs and a special tool
for inserting the riders. This tool is also used for simple
replacement of clips in the office. After Johns Dental prepares
the first case, you will receive the balance of the kit for future
cases and replacement of clips. |
| Laboratory and Office Procedures
for restoring over an implant
Prior to surgical and restorative procedures, It is recommended
that a Preplanning Kit be used.
The kit will help the dental
team
- Know the density of the bone on the mandible.
- Choose
a restorative method that best fits the oral environment presented.
- Know where the implants should be placed for proper retention of
the restoration.
For complete information, see the Preplanning Kit Technical bulletin
by Johns Dental Laboratories.
The procedures for the restoring over an implant start at the point
when the implants are ready to be uncovered by the restoring dentist.
- Prior to uncovering the implant, the decision will have been
made to place a standard screw-in or a custom made insert.
Custom made is recommended in cases where non-parallelism is an
extreme problem. The Hader Bar can accommodate a small degree of
non-parallelism. Place the insert and take a polyvinyl siloxane
impression. Send the impression to Johns Dental Laboratories.
|
- The technician will cast a Hader Bar to
fit the inserts and snap on a bite rim. The bar and bite rim
will be returned to your office.
- In the office, the Hader Bar will be screwed into the patient's
moth. Verify that it seats passively. Establish the
correct vertical using the bite rim. Return the Hader Bar to the
laboratory.
- John Dental Laboratories will set up the denture over the
bar. We recommend the use of Vita Pan teeth. They ware
made fully of composite material and match Vita Lumin
shades. The denture and Hader Bar are returned to your office.
- Once again, place the bar in the mouth. Seat the denture and
verify the bite as well as the esthetics. Return the denture to
Johns Dental Laboratories for final processing.
