Garcia Nighttime Splint
This mandibular, pull forward splint is named because it is
worn at night as part of a two part system with a daytime
component being worn during waking hours. It consists of a
lower splint with long posterior lingual flanges in the
posterior section. The anterior cap provides support to prevent
intrusion of the posteriors. Posterior contact is on the
lingual buccal cusp of the upper teeth. This daytime component
looks the same except for the
shorter lingual flanges in the posterior.
