CLOSED-LOCK TMD SPLINT
The pivitol splint was designed for closed-lock cases and is excellent for making fast corrections as treatment progresses. This mandibular splint is similar to a Gelb splint, except the only contact is between the mesial lingual cusp of the upper first molar and the occlusal pad. Other pivotal splints include the Mays and the Sears splints.
