The Sagittal appliance can also be fabricated as a flat plane splint with slight indexing to allow the patient guidance into the best joint healing position. The Gelb 4/7 technique is often used to find the best condyle position. Doctors normally recommend wearing this type of splint for 6-9 months with doctor follow up.
Following the Sagittal splint therapy, Phase 2 stabilization can be done using a bite restorer, crown & bridge or orthodontics.
