LATERAL EXPANSION (Removable)
The Ultrablock is really several appliance designs in one, all of which allow the first permanent molars to erupt into proper occlusion. The basic design covers the occlusal surface of the maxillary second primary molars or bicuspids and has an anterior ramp to reposition the mandible forward. With the first permanent molars out of occlusion, they are free to erupt, thereby increasing the vertical dimension.
